Description 'Laurina' -from our 'Cultivar' collection, a selection of botanical varieties that show distinct characteristics from others. We find these coffees showcase the particular genetic characteristics to the cultivated variety in the best ways.
Laurina is a rare and remarkable coffee variety — admired for its soft, elegant flavor and naturally low caffeine content. While most Arabica coffees carry between 1.2–1.6% caffeine, Laurina gently sits around 0.4–0.75%.
That subtle difference changes everything. Less caffeine means a smoother, sweeter cup — and a plant that’s far more fragile in nature. Because caffeine helps protect coffee trees from insects, Laurina needs extra care, patience, and the perfect conditions to thrive.
At Daterra Coffee Farms in Brazil, this journey began back in 1994. Believing in Laurina’s potential, the team spent more than two decades experimenting, nurturing, and perfecting the process until the variety truly came to life in their fields. The result? A coffee that feels almost effortless in the cup — clean, floral, and deeply refined — but behind every sip lies years of dedication and a quiet pursuit of balance.
This is a light and gentle coffee — with lower caffeine for a subtle lift and moderate chlorogenic acids adding a touch of brightness. It’s delicate, smooth, and ideal for slow moments or late afternoons.
